As usual, in discussions like this, there is a considerable degree of "term inflation". Thus, for example, you characterize a history of business dealings the have not even been close in over a decade as "being in bed" with someone. You characterize possible conflicts of interest as "bribes". You characterize American businesses hired by the Saudis as "extorting petrodollars". It is all a way of making more out of things than the assembled facts will bear.

Since you know that the alleged payoff to the Taliban was refuted, I do not know how you have the gall to assert it over and over.

Again, you take insinuate the worst possible interpretation of matters when there is not much to go on. Most presidents test the limits of executive privilege, and are resistant to early disclosure of previously secret documents. Bush is not unique.

I have no idea what the price of oil would be without OPEC. I am merely pointing out that it has not been a very effective organization, in the long run, if the goal were to keep prices high.

I am a fan of Daniel Pipes, a charter subscriber to The National Interest. He did not focus on the Saudi regime as being a particular problem in the article you link.
