Do you mean pension, or tax deferred compensation? In the last 20 years I have seen many companies drop their pensions for 401K or similar plans.

You are fortunate. Most retirement plans are now 401k based. The problem with this system is that it is far too dependent on the stock market.

Agree, Baldy. I believe almost all reputable, reasonably large companies provide a pension based on years of service after five years of service. You do have to contribute something in most cases, but it is still a good deal.
