Well, that is neat!

I knew that Hardy was a well respected poet; but, to tell the truth, I haven't read any of his poetry (well, perhaps something inadvertently here or there, but no volumes).

Love his novels because of the coincidence, fatalism that always seems to take the ideas of pain, happiness, failure, or triumph out of the hands of his characters...and into happenstance and Fate. He has an eerie style.

The rhyme scheme here is just hilarious! 35 lines! Plus, he has obviously read his bible!

I was just thinking about some of the craziness on this thread. The old religions are losing their hold (sort of). New people are discussing new (old) concepts and ideas. But no breakthroughs yet. Just nice to know that people are pondering and thinking...and that people are looking for kinder conceptons of "God".

Before the Mayan calendar ends in 2012, we ought to get a surge of creativity... <g>
