Corporate users warming to HP-Q takeover

Survey shows acceptance growing
By Mike Magee, 05/02/2002 11:40:09 BST

A SURVEY conducted by Web sites www.tru64.org and www.openvms.org has shown that HP and Compaq corporate customers may be warming to the soap opera pantomime proposed merger of the two companies.
Between the 31st of January and February 2nd, the organisers of the site conducted a survey to see how the user community saw the European Commission's approval of the takeover.

And, according to Terry Shannon, editor and publisher of close Compaq newsletter Shannon knows Compaq, the indications are that over half of the respondents felt the takeover was likely to succeed, with only 20 per cent of people surveyed believing that it was doomed to failure.

The sites are conducting a more extensive 19 question survey with a new poll up at the sites until February the 15th.

You can find more details of the existing surveys at Tru64.org and OpenVMS.org, along with details of the new survey. µ
