Hi Michael,

Re: If the pendulum has swung to far in one direction, it has swung toward too much government interference,

Not only do we see this world differently, we seem to exist in separate universes.

Let's see.... Enron gets Wendy Gramm to remove CFTC regulation of energy markets in 1993, and get rewarded with a seat on the ENE BoD. Then her hubby helps get a letter ruling on PUHCA, removing Enron from jurisdiction under that Act. Gramm and others insert a 200 page addendum to an appropriations bill in December, 2000 and further deregulates the energy and the OTC derivatives markets in the dark of night without public debate.

Now, we suffer the biggest corporate failure in American history, and you think it is because we are over-regulated?
Michael, my respect for intellectual honesty, for your comprehsion and for your point of view have slipped dramatically with your latest post. As I say, you really might consider that the alternative universe you are living in is collapsing around your shoulders. Just turn on C-SPAN or any reputable source and understand the dimension of the history that is being made. Your basic religion of deregulation and free markets is being exposed to the entire world as a fraud and simple means for corrupt manipulators to steal from the public and from employees, pensioners and shareholders. Your worldview is, thankfully at long last, in total collapse.

All the best, Ray :)
