Thanks to you JO and David Kelley for the responses, which largely confirm each other. It just seems to me that there's a pretty big air gap between "they won't make it in software bless their hearts cause it's not what they're good at", a point about which reasonable people can certainly differ, to "the big Unixes are dead, long live Linux" (another point which reasonable people can discuss but it's not CEO-speak for an allied CEO). The Big Easy is not a guy SUNW wants to alienate. --QS
