I would postulate that what goes on at the national level is just a reflection of what occurs locally. In other words, what's going on with your local zoning and school boards, city and county council, state legislature and governor? Probably much worse, because there are fewer watchdogs.

If either Pat Buchanan or the Libertarian presidential nominee is getting a substantial number of votes,it is news to me. It is not as if people have no one to vote for if they want to protest business as usual......
