Not to be inappropriately impious, but.......

Been there, done that. I'm a post-humanist anti-religionist. I see religion as being culpable for some of the most devastating and atrocious human behavior ever recorded in history.

Remember the sacking of Istanbul in 1204? The Ca' d' Oro Museum in Venice is full of looted byzantine art that the Venetian Catholics decided to steal from the Greek Orthodox residents of Constantinople. Killing thousands of innocenets in order to secure their plunder, sort like 9/11, but with booty. All in the name of religion. And hey, how about the religion angle on WTC, eh? Bush was dumb enough in the early days to actually match jihad with "crusade". He was rapidly told how stupid he was to use that term.

The Bible is an interesting collection of homilies and tall tales. But the history of Judeo/Christian/Islam hegemonies and conflicts is a vastly more interesting and complex subject.
