Take a look at a long term chart going back to 1984. There have been several instances where Elan suffered a major drop. However, the only other drop worse than this past episode was the crash of 1987. In all cases the stock stabalized and continued to new highs. Elan has products and probably great prospects. I have not owned the stock since the mid 90's because I perceived excessive valuation. So for me, the recent drop is welcome. I feel sorry for those that have lost money on this. Believe me in the past I have lost money on this and made money, so how one thinks of the present situation depends upon one's entry or basis price. For me, that's $14.85 after buying today. I have no advice because no one listens anyway, but for me I will be slowly accumulating shares...hopefully lower. It appears there is major support at the $7-$10 level, with decent support where the stock is now. It is possible we have seen the low.
