Semis and semi equipment stocks will be among the first wave issues to recover from a recession. Historical data show that they could be 1-3 quarters ahead of other high techs, thus the big guns are jostling their positions to be ready for that ultimate happening - whenever that may be.

Other sectors belong to the first wave are said to include financials. But some banks are now susceptible to "enronitis" or other unrecoverable debts - thus the cautious stance on the part of the money stores.

Another point worth repeating: nearly all the major semi/mother board vendors have sounded off very positively. They are receiving orders at a level not seen since late 2001.
