Premies are put into incubators and routinely thrive and live.
Premies have a large number of health problems, cognitive problems, and developmental problems.

The theme liberals seem to focus on is whether the baby is wanted by the
mother. But that won't work, because we can't base criminal murder laws on
someone else's (other than the actor's) intent.

Liberals & Conservative come in all different flavors. You can find many different opinions about abortion among both groups.

I don't believe liberals focus on whether the woman wants to become a mother or not. Moderates on both sides of the issue admit that there are many extenuating circumstances why a woman feels forced to have an abortion. Their point is that you cannot judge every case by one standard & completely ignore the human rights of the woman.

Another point of descension & varied opinions is at what stage a fetus becomes an independent life. The only action that will solve that dilemma is if/when the Supreme court makes the decision for the courts. That would probably be bad news for the radical right since they would then need to regroup for their attack on freedom of choice.
