OT The Gulf War cost the US about $7 billion. This is only 12% of the total cost of the war. The rest of the costs were covered by the countries around the Gulf (primarily Saudi Arabia and Kuwait) and allies such as Germany, and Japan. One can argue that the benefits the US derived from the Gulf War far exceed the amount we spent. The most profitable US companies, the major oils, derive a major part of their multi-billion yearly profits from the Gulf.
