Dave, Thanks for the intro lesson on "are dozens of indexes
for various sectors.
SOX = semiconductor sector
XAL = airline sector
DRG = drug sector
BTK = biotech sector
etc, etc.

Incase your thread draws some readers
that find your thread more user-friendly for beginners, then might
that place Fools.com have some basics class 101 web pages
that help with things like calls etc spoken here. I have heard that
some don't like the direction them "fools" there take in playing the markets,
but i think if its those two brothers once on PBS t.v. then they would
be straight talking guys giving info. Maybe someone here has url links
to pages there to read for free on basic market words and stuff like
i just asked about, the DOW and SOX you explained.

Years ago on the Gold Price Monitor thread guys were throwing out
url links to many places to gather info and do research. I collected
them into a post incase anyone interested in getting up to speed
in the gold markets had ready urls to use.

Is my post of urls, and i made a mistake in listening to ron-ron
complain that its too much a waste of thread space that i updated
this post once a week to add correct and modify it, so i stopped.
So, some are bad urls.
