Now, here's an analyst who you can trust. Goldman's Rick Sherlund has been following Microsoft since it IPO'd.
I'm not suggesting anyone runs out and buys MSFT, but he's always called it right on the money.

Meanwhile, shares of Microsoft (MSFT: news, chart, profile) appeared to be recovering after dipping lower in the early going after the company's CFO John Connors gave what investors and analysts characterized as a cautionary presentation at the Goldman Sachs' Tech Symposium in Palm Springs on Monday.

Connors was "cautious," but consistent with the company's practice of making cautious comments following completion of the December quarter, Goldman analyst Rick Sherlund told clients.
