Yes, it's the politician wanting to take home the goodies he promised when he got elected but it also goes beyond that. Pork is not all that warrants change.

Ken once said he was proud of the increase in minimum wage his state passed recently. Lets take a look at his state. The state of Washington increased the minimum wage floor but they also increased taxes. In essence, they just passed on a corporate tax via the union and minimum wage workers and a direct tax to all others.

You wonder why Boeing is unhappy and wants to leave. They cited several reasons including taxes and infrastructure.

Now, Keynesians will tell you the minimum wage increase was a great idea. However, to stimulate the economy, you have to hold or reduce the current tax rate for this system to work in a Keynesian system. Obviously, they didn't follow a true Keynesian model and they are paying for that now.
