The irony isn't lost on me. However, Levitt had 8 years to make changes, and the noteworthy changes that he did make (Reg. FD, changing from fractions to decimals, etc.) took place at or near the end of Clinton's term, with the effects felt only thereafter.

Politics 101: If you're going to do something that will cause great economic upheaval and turmoil, make sure it's the next guy and not you who suffers the fallout.
