You absolutely right on the 5 month cut off.

You are wrong on the radical right... many pro life organizations would support such a step.

Yes, they would only consider it a start... just like many gun control advocates consider banning hand guns just a start.

In either case - the innocent lives saved would be well worth the compromise.

a child born after five months in the womb
While a severely premature child can survive, it's prognosis is not likely the same as a full term pregnancy.

Here's just one of many health risks.

There's the answer. The Supreme Court should set 5 mos as the cut-off point.

No, that's the problem. As soon as the Supremes set 5 mos as the cut-off, medical technology will be available to allow it to be 4 mos. Then 3.

In fact, it will be suggested that rather than having an abortion at all, but to accommodate the unwanting woman, the fetus should be removed, intact, and transplanted to someone who wants it (at least for very early term pregnancies). The technology will be there, if it isn't already.

I might have just proposed the ultimate solution to accommodate everybody's needs. Rather than terminating a pregnancy, transplant it to someone who wants it!

What think?
