At the Goldman Sachs Technology conference, Scott McNealy said that the Enron bankruptcy dumped more used SUNW equipment into the gray mkt; says there are probably 15-20 more bankruptcies on the way that will add even more used equipment to the gray mkt (probably a bit of hyperbole there). The bright side is that the shelf life of old servers is rapidly deteriorating.

The Tyco Capital unit of Tyco Intl has announced plans to draw down on its $8.5 bln unsecured bank credit facilities and use the proceeds to repurchase its outstanding commercial paper at its scheduled maturities.
