Patron, rotfl! Dan Rather's the man for this one for sure. <g>

Speaking of "What's the frequency", there's an interesting article in the December Harper's, where a novelist by the name of Paul Limbert Allman claims to have solved the mystery, more or less ...he feels the assailants were either hired or inspired by the late U. of Houston prof and author Donald Bartheme, who seems to have had a dislike for old Dan. The argument is basically that Bartheme seems to have had a running character named Kenneth in his stories, with 'what's the frequency?' being a key line in one and an "editor-king" named Lather featuring in another. Stuff like that ... that they both got into journalism in Houston in the late 50's leads him to speculate they must have known each other and Bartheme somehow developed this dislike. No idea if it's true or not, but it was an interesting read.
