Whether it's flat tax or sales tax or something else is less important than that it be simple, fair, and have as its ONLY GOAL to raise money - i.e not to be used as a tool for the social engineers.

If I had my personal druthers, I'd keep a little progressivity in the tax rates... but if that's the only way to get rid of all the special interest tax loopholes that are corrupting the economics of the entire country, than I'd gladly sign on to a totally flat rate system.
