So... pay the corporate "farm" subsidies not to grow, and cut job training?

Does seem a bit odd for an Administration that has been very vocally opposed to farm subsidies and openly "concerned" about the unemployed.

I see in a later post [10480] Neocon says I, and most of the country, firmly back the Administration...... And he's correct on that point. But are they firmly in support of cutting farm subsidies and providing job training, or are they in support of increasing farm subsidies and cutting job training? If it's the later, then the will of the people is being granted.

Is this the way to invest in growth and economic stimulus?

The Stimulus Bill [White House version] provides ATM credits to Enron [not by name] to the tune of $250 Million. GM gets some ~$600M in ATM credits; though they have $8B in cash. IMO, that's approaching $1B of stimulus that's down the commode when it comes to investing in growth and economic stimulus. That's just what's at the surface.

By that reasoning, just unload a trillion on businesses that line up outside Cheney's office. That should "stimulate" the hell out of the economy.

It's not quite that high and it's more focused...it's the DoD Appropriations Bill [esp. SDI], Homeland Security, and IT. Silicon Valley, Defense contractors, Beltway bandits are bursting with joy.
