SSN is just another sacred governmental cow that comes far from living up to it's billing and hype.....one of my pet peeves....where would the democratic party be if the average voter actually understood what was happening with his money?

As usual, you guys don't get it! Social Security is an insurance program as well as a retirement program. If you become disabled before reaching retirement, you get the benefits. If you die, your spouse gets the benefits. That is why you can't just look at the return on investment.
