I think you have to recognize that ENE knew who their best friends were. Every company that engages in certain behaviors sends money to their friends. Is there any reason to wonder why Clinton/Gore/Lieberman received their biggest contributions from trial lawyers? No, it's because they were buddy/buddy with those fools, and the lawyers knew that triumvirate LOVED litigation, so they'd benefit. But we all know that litigation is a drain on business...so... Again, it's all perspective. Be careful what you wish for.

Jerome-- I think the key word is the ene thieves ATTEMPTED to buy both partys. They did not succeed. The political distributions were fine until they tried to make good on them. My bet is they tried with some Dems too but went where the power was heaviest. The entire contribution system sux. Why would anyone spend many millions to win a position that pays $250K inc perks? Only to satisfy a need to feel power and what they can do for THEIR future. That is the way of both partys. Not just on a national scale either-- state Gov positions are as bad or worse. Even positions like big city mayor-- crooks are in both partys. Trafficant in OH is a joke and may go to jail this time. He keeps getting voted in as there is no strength running against him. LOL! Yes-- I have made errors as we all have. $40K dropping in many 401K accounts is not unusual nationwide would be a safe guess. Anyone that watches their retirement acct drop huge percentages and does nothing to stop the bleeding -- like getting the hell out and coming back on stability hopefully at a lower price on strength-- needs to be reminded McDonalds is hiring as that level of intelligence should have been there all along. Bush may be underestimateing the ene problem by about the same level the Dems are blowing it up in an attempt to make political hay,, which may backfire on them. Additionally, the media is making a much bigger deal of the mess than it is due to the dollar figure involved and the whinners keep coming looking for the taxpayers to bail them out instead of McDs hiring them (their whinning attitude would preclude a position as 'greeter' at Wally's). You are incorrect-- I do take the situation serious. I stronly believe jail sentences should be given to some at ene & Andersons. I find the sensationalization of the situation and whinners by the media very serious as they are negatively effecting the markets and the economy. The media may cause many 401Ks to lose due to the medias greed feeding on sensationalism. Past time to let the courts, Wardens, McDs, & Walmart to take care of the problem so the rest of the nation can move on.
