The problem with this statement by the student is that this Harvard student is assuming inside information was the motivation of this trade.

I guess even "Harvard types" lack basic analytical reasoning.

Remember: Evidence + Assumption = Conclusion

The student cites as evidence, the short sale of Enron stock.

Therefore, the student concludes, that HARVARD must investigate.

The assumption was that there was "inside" information.
