So then if there isin't enough of something hard and tangible, maybe governments can get scrap pieces of paper and write the country's name on it and people can use that ?

I wonder how Joe Six Pack in Argentina feels now...some gold stashed away in the house would be far better than not being able to access whatever the h*ll medium of exchange they got going down there today (which probably will change again tomorrow) (oops, edit, sorry folks, the bank is closed again...come back next time...)

yeah real estate can work out splendidly as long as you are in the plus side...lots of speculators buy that at the top too and end up telling the bank to just take the property...
