Dan3, wbmw, my guess is that Intel probably fears companies like Nvidia. Companies that can innovate and deliver top notch products on time. I think Nvidia might one day deliver fully integrated products, one chip that contains the whole pc. I can see Nvidia blowing both AMD and Intel away with something like this in 3-5 years time.

Dan3 - Re:"Any idea why Intel won't sell them a license to produce chipsets that accommodate P4?"

By all accounts, Intel would give a license for P4 chipsets to nVidia and others. But it is all about the price for the license. If you don't pay then you don't get to play.

Dan, Re: "Any idea why Intel won't sell them a license to produce chipsets that accommodate P4?"

Intel's stance has always been to get fair value from a front side bus license. If nVidia isn't willing to pay what they require, then they won't get one. However, with the strength that nVidia has shown to have, I would be surprised if Intel doesn't somehow sweeten the deal later on when it becomes obvious that support from nVidia would give them an enormous advantage.
