From Briefing.com: 10:26 ET VeriSign hit by accounting talk (VRSN) 22.77 -3.68: Stock breaks lower in recent action; hearing trading floor talk of possible accounting issues related to companies in which VRSN has minority investments; suggestion is that issues are similar to those that have hit ELN in the past (investing in companies which then buy products/services from the investor) - such accounting is technically legal but is seen as a liberal standard; no confirmation of these reports but they are clearly weighing on the stock.
