Clinton ... said much the same thing. Clinton was (is) an extremely intelligent and sensible guy when he put his mind to actual policy issues. Unfortunately, he was (is) a moral pygmy and a political hack of the first order, and so was very rarely willing to bear any costs whatsoever in the service of good public policy, and in particular good foreign policy. Life is too short to waste time with such folks, unless they happen to be in power and thus in charge. So I'll take the professional staffers rather than the boss, or the would-be staffers such as O'Hanlon. tb@sniffsniff.com
