Good point Michael - January wasn't that great.

It did have a nice run for the first couple of weeks but then started the current sell-off. This didn't show up so much in semi-eqs but then they tend to be a leading indicator for the general economy.
...The ramification for me is that the "February" effect (post January relaxation) may trough sooner. Which would mean that we'll bounce off of 1800.

On the other hand, New England won the super bowl so I'm afraid that the market is doomed this year ;-)
