Brocade, Emulex, Finisar and JNIC have all tapped the convertible debt market recently to bolster their cash positions. Do Vixel and Gadzoox still count? 5 vendors already control more than 80% of the combined HBA and switch market and 3 vendors already control more than 70% of the networked storage market which appear poised to achieve 40% to 50% market penetration in the next 18-24 months. Wha' I wanna' know is wha' happened to Infiniband? The new tech hype-o-meter seems to have gone from one extreme to the other extreme. And we all know that ain't natural. It just ain't.
