I'm going to nitpick you again:
<<the chart just completed a successful double bottom. a little NG play here makes reasonable sense to me>>

The STOCKS already discount a significant rebound in NG. Patterson/UTI energy (PTEN), a US land driller that probably has the most leveraged earnings to a rebound in NG activity, is at $21 despite estimates of 7 pennies in Q1:01 and 1 penny in Q2:01. The NG stocks have been going up while NG has been falling.

I too am bullish on NG. I was long Patterson (sold at +/- $18) and am still long Pride (leverage from shallow water GOM drilling assets, in addition to stable int'l and deepwater oil assets). But it seems to me that way too many hedgies are bullish on the NG stocks; crowded trade (like the Amazon short <g>), which is making me re-think my bullish position.

If you're so bullish on NG, why not just go long NG futures?

Often wrong, never in doubt (nor ever lacking an opinion <g>)

Cheers
