Become a British subject. You don't seem to have much use for the US government anyway.

Not a consideration. Besides, if I applied, Ashcroft would probably use the "Green Lantern" [or whatever it's called] software; have me extradited; declare the set of kitchen knives I have constitutes a weapon of mass destruction; claim I was part of an SI terrorist cell; and then throw my a** into a Texas jail.
