Some notes from the SK Telecom conference call....for reference, 1 Dollar = 1306 Korean Won. sktelecom.com - Capex for '02 is for 1.5 Trillion Won. Of this total, 1 Trillion Won is designated for 1x/1xEV-DO. The total upgrade cost for 1x and DO is 3 Trillion Won (spread out over about 3 years). 1xEV-DO makes up about 10% of the total. - They expect 9 million 1x subs by the end of the year....800,000 DO subs. - They are hoping for data ARPU of 9,000-10,000 Won for their "2.5G clients". The question was specifically asked about DO but I think the response includes both 1x and DO. - A question was asked about the split of data revenue between SMS and wireless data. The response was that "phone mail" made up about half while Nate (the name of their portal) made up the other half. - No subsidies are expected for DO handsets. - In response to a question about DO and it's availability....the SKT representative said they saw a demonstration yesterday. His response was that "it was unbelievable"....they believe it will be met by substantial demand from the sub base. - No plans to change the current packet pricing for DO....but they are still exploring options. - Current data ARPU's.... Data ARPU 2G 2,103 Won 1x 4,788 Won Color 8,177 Won Overall ARPU was 40,087 Won with 190 Minutes of Use. Slacker
