No kidding!! I've been kind of looking for a job to meet people again. I thought about a Gas and Go but those people get shot in robberies. B&N would be a lot safer.

Guess what I did today...
I filled out a job application at Barnes and Noble.
It didn't take long.

Guess what I did today...
I too stopped at Barnes and Noble -- to use their men's room.
It didn't take long, either.

On the way out I picked up today's Chronicle and headed to the cashier nearest the door. He was chatting with another nearby cashier who spotted me coming and motioned for me to go down to his register, which turned out to be at the opposite end of the long line of registers and farthest from the door. He looked disappointed upon seeing that I had only a newspaper after the long hike to his register, but after ringing up the meager 50-cent sale, he said "Thank you." Could it be that B&N has begun a customer-appreciation training program?

Based on my experience, if you should land a job a B&N, you'll have a clean and attractive restroom facility.

Where did you hear about B&N?

At Amazon.com, duh...

References
- this stumped me through most of my Starbucks coffee.

Oh, and what about all your pals at DAR? Think we couldn't serve as References?

Sure, Penni is qualified- she drinks wine at every opportunity. Eats durian. Hates exercise. Knows how to lose money in astounding quantities (don't we all)- what more could you ask for?

What job are you applying for?
I had no idea. How many jobs are there? I just thought you sold books.
I left it blank, along with desired salary.

I would suggest "CEO" but you HAVE been out of the workforce for a while so I perhaps "store manager" would be appropriate.
