I read on the newswire that they didn't include the $195M gain in their operating earnings. Could you post otherwise if you read that?

Greenberg is a perfect example thestreet.com went tits up. Here is the link at csco's site that shows the exclusion of the inventory gain.

Their decrease in working inventory is a great sign.

Here is something I found on CNBC that makes sense.

"The Cisco news helped tech stocks initially. But a move by analysts at SoundView to cut earnings estimates for Sun Microsystems (SUNW, news, msgs) pushed that stock down about 6%. The setting of Sun took other techs down too. "

I also suspect that many people were disappointed with the lack of guidance upward for Q3 and thereafter. There seems to be zero visibility beyond the next quarter for Cisco and others.

Hi KeepItSimple, good observation. However, you might be premature. Do you know exactly how much the excess inventory benefit was? I don't see any figures that show how much profit was contributed by the benefit. We'll have to wait until we see the number to see if it is significant.

Pro forma net income, which excludes ..... an excess inventory benefit,
So why CSCO is collapsing after hours?
