KIS or anyone,

Please forgive the naive question, but how can it be legal to admittedly write down inventory as worthless and then sell it and claim the revenue toward profits? Assuming this is as crooked as it seems, I'm amazed that Chambers admits it in a matter-of-fact fashion.

No problem. Chambers could write off a few billions more in the next quarter to smooth out the earnings for the following quarters.

KIS;

By the way, a significant amount of this gear ended up in the hands of "Larry the Liquidator" types, who have simply pounded this huge glut into an already groaning, glutted market place. Might this have an impact on Cisco's next quarter sales? Naah. (G)

Got "driven-only-on-sundays" brand new servers piled up on your lawn? I'm renting mine out at quite reasonable rates. Glad I bought all those tarps in time for last fall's semi glut and even happier that I soaked up all those tarp futures at the same time. Har to rent out the lawn without them. (g)

Best, Earlie
