No, I understand what your point is, but that's not a reason to panic. It's just one more datapoint to watch. If all the other metrics were looking unstable, I'd say we have to worry. But this is one of only a couple of things that look shaky to me. All the other metrics to watch are overwhelmingly positive. So in the balance of things, Cisco is looking very strong. Of course, that's not to say that the stock price is going up. But the company is definitely kicking butt and taking no prisoners.

I must disagree that JC is just now having visibility problems. There is no correlation between that and the reduced deferred revenue. He has said consistently for a year now that visibility is poor.

When deferred revenue increased last quarter did all the shorts jump in here to say that Cisco revenues were "understated"? No. So it is ridiculous to now play the other side.
