The SEC decision made Enron's schemes possible.

The SEC specifically went around Congress to do what it did after Enron failed to get what it wanted there.

That's why Levitt's "no recollection" defense is so damning. The accounting issue is merely a diversion.

The Clinton SEC is at the center of the scandal and I can't wait to see the Dems unravel.

I believe his point is about the one error that was the genesis of Enron's downfall. You cover all the other points which are problems too but ancillary to stopping this from happening again. An investigation of the SEC waiver is mandatory and those involved need to be held accountable.
