Oh geez, give me a break.

It's all politics, and neither side can claim the high ground.

A president wants to enact a huge spending program, and a minority member of Congress helps to block it. This was done in the Clinton years, and it is being done now, only the parties on each side are reversed.

And, although I am definitely no fan of Daschle, thank goodness he is blocking this spending plan. Although without question his motive is definitely not good, still, the last thing our economy needs is the massive amount of pork that is in the Bush/GOP plan. Our monetary policy is so loose now the slightest imbalance will get inflation out of control, and that kind of government spending could easily be the trigger.

We had the longest expansion in our history, and now we're paying the price, and it really isn't that steep of a price.
