John those are good insights on tfs and the lcd market. The reason that tfs has been hit so hard is, as you indicate, because of overcapacity in that market after the shortfall in projected sales of telecommunications displays. It doesn't look like that situation will change soon. Tfs has changed its business plan and is now outsourcing its manufacturing of those displays. They have stopped selling at a loss in order to keep their customers happy and will undoubtedly lose market share with their largest customer, Motorolla. Their focus is on custom, high-end applications and they have a lot of irons in the fire. They may be on the cutting edge of a lot of new applications including lycos. Rca is coming out with a product, hopefully this month, that is a large screen HDTV that is supposedly a remarkably clear and bright set. There are issues with respect to whether the large scale production issues have been worked out etc. but the bottom line is that this company has some cash, is innovative and if it ever gets a workable business plan it could take off. Or not. g. Listen to the archived tape of the latest earnings conference call and you will probably know more than I do since you have a better handle on the technology. If you do, let me know your thoughts. Ed
