The same way that refusing to adopt the 386 put IBM on their downward slide. Provided there are alternatives, when it becomes too obvious that a company is trying to provide only what they think the public wants, while wearing blinders to shield themselves from what the public really wants, that company is beginning a downward slide.

Barton will be so obviously superior in the notebook market that even Dell loyalists will feel disenfranchised if Dell does not offer a Barton based notebook.
