You can find me later saying I bought back into Vrsn @ 40 again. Find me a post where I said Vrsn had unlimited upside potential, was superbly managed, or was an unstoppable tornado, and I'll jump off the golden gate bridge. Don't compare me to Harmond because I'm not a drama major...Yet!

07:05 ET VeriSign issues highlighted in WSJ (VRSN) 24.10: WSJ article discuses the recent decline in VRSN shares as concerns about co's accounting practices spread among investors. At issue is whether VRSN is "round-tripping," making investments in companies that would immediately come back to VRSN in the form of affiliate fees. Of the 50 such affiliates co has signed up over the past several yrs, it has made investments in 10. Investors have also raised concerns about the growth prospects of co's Web-address biz and "bloated" accounts receivables. While the article raises many potentially inflammatory issues, except for the growth issue each is countered with a reasonable explanation from either VRSN mgmt or covering analysts.
