If Intel has been working long enough to make Banias a competitive processor with regards to power, they wouldn't have left performance alone. Banias may launch at the end of the year and ramp up in 2003, yet the Pentium III core is yesterday's technology. Do you really think that there will be zero performance improvements?

Prepare to be surprised. Banias will probably create more ripples in the PC industry than AMD would like, perhaps more than even Intel would like.
