Yes, looked into this and my information of FDIC insurance is it will only pay if you have less than $100K left in your accounts. This of course includes all FDIC insured accounts including CD's. The FDIC uses you SS number and can quickly find out the total of all your FDIC insured assets.

It is important that one keep funds over $100 in other income producing assets.

sounds fishy to me too, thought it was $100K/bank, if not that's just more bullish for gold -ng-
