I've been in the double dip recession camp for some time and have felt that American consumers would need tax relief as real wages are down.

Agreed... and should Japan's devaluation of the yen spiral out of control due to those Keynesian "animal spirits", it will create some initial panic, which will obviously impact our economy.

There's a "stress point" that any government can implement fiscal policy without causing public panics. The Japanese have to be very careful here (and I don't have much confidence in their abilities).

And I fully expect the right-wing elements in Japan to seek to take advantage of any lack of confidence in the government's policies (inducing inflation directly impacts Japanese pocketbooks).
