If you were in Loral, you became rather cynical about Bernie. Those who were paying attention, anyway. There were some who got suckered in. Cudda been worse. Cudda been Iridium. Yeah, it gave complete global coverage. Of course, you had to buy a phone the weight and size of a brick that cost $3,000. But how many people are there at the North Pole? The problem both companies hit was that there already was cheaper conventional cellular service anywhere that there were enough people with enough money.
