VELDHOVEN, the Netherlands -- ASML Holding N.V. and its lithography-lens partner, Carl Zeiss SMT AG, today announced that they can meet the current demand for 193-nm (argon-fluoride) tools in spite of shortages and extended lead times for these scanners in the market right now.

At present, leading lithography suppliers, including ASML, Canon Inc., and Nikon Corp., are "nearly" sold out of high-end, 193-nmtools for the entire year of 2002, according to industry sources (
