qveauriche: I am really perplexed by this.

And you were understanding of the 1999 run?

Likes/dislikes - been there, done that. Get in early - stay away.

Investing is psychological.

Eventually, the fog will clear again. With the continued failure of everyone BUT Qualcomm to produce advancements in the sector, the Q will return to favor.

Will it be 1999 all over? I dont know. But it will be better than today.

I am really perplexed by this.

Q always seems to beat to a different drummer. Pre-1999 was a good example, as is today. I am perplexed by the latest activity too. Humbled could also apply.

re: Is anyone else?

==========

How about TXN? Upgraded on a projected 2002 PE of 150.

29.54: UBS Warburg upgrades to BUY from Hold due to increased margin assumptions; sees higher operating margins and earnings than previously expected, as firm had underestimated the manufacturing leverage impact on cost-of-sales and mgmt's determination to control operating expenses. Raises 2002 est to $0.21 from $0.16 and 2003 to $0.74 from $0.47; sees downside to $25 but 25% upside to new price target of $37.

In light of fundamental and accounting uncertainties, TA has become more fashionable than at any time that I can recall... and with critical mass, it becomes self fulfilling.

TA traders have been shorting a self-constructed, self-fulfilling chart pattern on Q since the 60's, when it was most heavily shorted by the hedgies... whispering "valuation" concerns.

Q has always been a favorite trading target, and that snowball has rolled down the hill.

qv - Not really once the market gets into a downslide like this. The signal was the big drop of over 200 last week. Once you see that we should all have know to get out.

The thing about the Q is that the good news keeps on coming but fails to change the downward trend on the bottom line.

But probably the worst thing about it is that it is rapidly becoming the shorters favorite stock and they won't leave off till they have crushed it. Meantime the only thing you have to fight the shorters with is earnings and good ones.

Nice announcements won't doit anymore.

Best,

L

qveau,

QCOM looks bad compared to the COMPX but not as bad compared to a wireless index. also, take a look at what has happened to PCS and LWIN.
