L- I thought you might take exception to my opinion, but she just never triggered the same reaction as other singer/songwriters like Kate Wolf, Eliza Gilkyson, and a few others I discovered thru the Folk and Americana channels on Spinner.com.

But then I hold quite a few blasphemous opinions on music that cause folks to consider me a Neandethal:
"Satisfaction" is the most overrated song in rock history [not a bad song, just far from "the greatest song ever"]; Joan Baez is not a great singer [an incredibly beautiful voice, but except for her interpretations of Dylan tunes, not one of the better stylists]; and I really don't like most of Aretha's music. Her ballads are fine, but I find her too screechy on the uptempo numbers. I'll take Carla Thomas, especially in her duets with Otis, over Aretha any day.
But those are just the opinions of one who admittedly has absolutely no musical talent whatsoever.

And I've taken your advice and ordered Shawn Colvin's "No Small Repairs".

And have your ever heard of Sara Elizabeth Campbell? I believe she's from your area - I recently heard one of her songs that just knocked me over but I can't find any of her music for sale.
