Yes. Something I wish AMD had the $ to do. The crappy chipset support was hurting INTC then & it cost AMD at least 1/2 year in volume on their Athlon intro., IMO.

I'm sure it made sense to IBM somehow. Actually, IIRC, the first iterations of the Pentium were sort of -- dogs? No, that's too strong. Disappointing. While everybody was talking about how great the PPC was.
